Two Golf Layouts

Players of all levels will enjoy a round of golf in the two 18-hole, par 72 championship courses of The Oaks with their scenic layout and breathtaking elevation changes. One of them is the Eagle which was completely renovated in 2007 by Arthur Hills, a world-famous golf course architect. This layout, widely acknowledged as one of the best in southwest Florida, measures 7,003 yards from the farthest tees and 5,022 yards from the nearest, and has a slope rating of 147.

The other golf course is the Heron with yardage ranging from 4,986 to 6,695 yards. It has a slope rating of 136 from the championship tees. This layout’s original design was by another famous golf course builder, William Byrd. The original course opened for play in 1984.

The club has a professional golf staff as mentors to members who want to improve their skills. Their services, supervised by a PGA pro, are available year-round. Complementing the golf lessons and clinics are the excellent teaching and practice facilities at The Oaks. Members are also privileged with full-service locker rooms and reciprocal agreements with local clubs during the summer months.

Three Neighborhoods

The Oaks Club community is composed of three distinct neighborhoods:

  • Oaks Bayside—consisting of 197 home sites, many of which directly fronts Little Sarasota Bay
  • Oaks Clubside—featuring 358 estate-sized home sites at the borders of the club’s golf courses
  • Oaks Preserve—comprised of home sites located in a natural estuary

The gated Oaks Preserve is further subdivided into: Bishopscourt, with ranch-style villas and two-story homes; Bishopscourt Townhouses, two maintenance-free buildings with its own club house and pool; Emerald Woods, with maintenance-free villas; and the Meridian, four ten-story condominiums overlooking Sarasota Bay.

Choices of residences in The Oaks community can surely be wide in terms of home design, size, style, and price. A sales-listed estate home with a floor area nearly 10,500 square feet can have an asking price of almost $7 million. A three-bedroom, 2,055-square foot condo unit at the Meridian, on the other hand, can have a tag price near the $300,000 mark.

The fabulous location of The Oaks community, coupled with the wide range of real estate purchase options, is a great incentive to many home buyers and investors. Aside from the numerous member privileges at this golf club, its community is just a short drive away from the many Florida attractions that too keeps the real estate market humming.
