Palm Aire Real Estate
Palm Aire is a country club with superb amenities founded on its rich history and deep roots. It traces its origins from the DeSoto Lakes Country Club Colony established in 1957 in a 1,300-acre property between Sarasota and Bradenton Florida. After years of meticulous development, Palm Aire became a private membership club in 1990 and remains one of the best places in the Sarasota, Florida area to play golf.
Palm Aire Country Club is easily accessible and sits on one of the best Sarasota area locations. Palm Aire is just two miles from both interstate 75 in the west and U.S. 301 in the east. Its members mainly congregate in a 23,000-square- foot clubhouse provisioned with excellent facilities for dining and social activities. Currently on offer are these special membership rates: full, $2,500; sports, $1,250; tennis, $1,000; and social, $500 plus variable monthly dues depending on the membership level.
An Athletic Club at Palm Aire ensures that members have options open for different types and levels of play under excellent conditions and up to date facilities and equipment. For tennis, the Country Club has eight Har-Tru courts and two all-weather courts. Six of these are lighted for night matches. Private or group training sessions are available from a professional staff member.
Members can also avail of physical exercise training programs and high-tech equipment at the Palm Aire fitness center with a certified trainer. PALM AIRE GOLF COURSES
Golfers are in for a thrill at the two golf courses of Palm Aire — the Lakes and the Champions. Both have been completely renovated and are ranked by Golfweek magazine as two of the best layouts in Florida. These courses have five different tee box locations for each tee to enable play to all player ability levels. Swing, power, and stance can be perfected at the country club’s driving range which has twenty-four grass hitting slots.
A tour of the Lakes layout involves a par-72 play of 6,685 yards from its farthest tee. The designer for this course is Joe Lee, known for his enigmatic golf layouts. The Lakes course rates a 72.1, with its slope rating at 130. The longer Champions course measures 7,005 yards and also plays at par 72; course rating is 73.9 and slope rating is 120. Its creator is Dick Wilson, another course architect well-known for his challenging designs.
These courses were the scene of some milestones in U.S. golf history. Among these are the first televised golf tournaments, like the 1959 All Star Golf won by the iconic Sam Snead.
