If you love water sports, the Nathan Benderson Park is the place for you. This park provides 600 acres of public access with a 500-acre lake. It's found just to the west of I-75 and provides something you just won't find anywhere else in Sarasota.
Athletes come to the park for rowing because of the 2,000-meter sprint rowing and training course. However, this park is for more than just athletes. Families and visitors come for stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, rowboating, a picnic, a walk, biking and so much more. It's a park everybody can enjoy with plenty of beauty found throughout.
