The 15th Annual Sarasota Film Festival

cannes.redcarpet_482Featuring over 180 films, including free showings, kids programs and many other events, the 15th Annual Sarasota Film Festival will start on April 5th and end on April 14th. This is an event for the whole family with something good for everybody. Opening night features a Film & Party, Cinema Tropicale and the Conversation Series, followed by a full week of fun.  

Whether you enjoy feature films, shorts, kid-friendly choices or documentaries, you'll find it at the festival. Films start at 10am daily and run until midnight. The festival will be held at the Regal Cinemas Hollywood 20 in downtown Sarasota.


Many events from the Youth Screenwriters Circle Live to the Late Night Unwrap Party will happen during the week. Enjoy the Filmmakers Lounge all week long at Supernova Cafe or take in one of the special events, including the awards show on closing night.

Not only does the festival feature tons of great films for adults, but also the YOUTHfest for kids. Featuring many kid-friendly screening free of charge, you don't have to worry about what your children are doing, while you're enjoying a film.  

Enjoying the many community events and films is just part of the festival. There will be filmmakers on hand and plenty of educational programs for both adults and children. Whether you just want to take in a few films or you want to go all out, you can pick and choose what you prefer throughout the week.

Film tickets cost $12.50 per film, but you can choose from one of the three different packages to save a little cash. The Student Passport is $20 and allows students access to four regularly priced films. The Film Buff Package is $110 and provides any patron with ten tickets to any regularly priced film. The Film Fanatic package is $210 and provides 20 tickets to regularly priced films. None of the special packages include the Centerpiece, Opening night, Spotlight or Closing night films.
